About

I’m Evan, a Product Designer at Expedia Group. I’ve been designing consumer products since 2016, starting with banking apps in Southeast Asia and, since 2020, the ads travelers see on Expedia.
At Expedia Group I was the first designer dedicated to ads. I own the design of every unit travelers see, and I wrote the rules they follow. Expedia Group ad revenue grew from $483M a year in 2023 to $758M a year in 2025, up 57% (Form 10-K). In between, I spent time on lodging and checkout, where I designed the lodging card, the property page and the checkout flow with travel insurance, and I was a major contributor to the homepage redesign. Most of the time I’m the only designer on the team, working straight with PMs and engineers.
How I work is pretty simple. I do the research, write a plan, design and prototype in Figma, test it with real people, and stay with the PMs and engineers until it ships and the numbers come in. I studied computer science and know React and Swift, so I talk to engineers about the stuff that usually gets missed, like how a design holds up on Retina displays and how images and components behave at every screen size.
I use AI tools every day. On my team I set up the GitHub side of our AI workflow, contributed to the EGDS prototype kit and help teammates get going with it. The design still starts in Figma. AI just makes the handoff to engineering a lot faster.
Evan has emerged as a team leader in AI tooling and agentic workflows, establishing GitHub infrastructure, contributing to the EGDS prototype kit, and actively up-skilling teammates.
Most of my leading happens from the design seat. On ads I’m often the only designer working with five PMs, so setting the design direction is my job. I also teach teammates to use AI tools in their own handoff work. At Sabu I built and led a team of 15+ coaches, engineers, designers and a PM, and at Fastwork I led 10+ designers and 5+ engineers. For fun, I captain my League of Legends league team.
I also co-founded two companies, Savicore and Luli, and I’m CPO at both, so there I own the roadmap, the priorities and the team too. I’m looking for a senior product design role, on site or remote. Off the clock I play guitar and drums, and a lot of League of Legends.
Where I’ve worked
- Expedia GroupProduct DesignerNov 2020 to now
- Usually the only designer on the team, across Ads, Lodging, Landing Pages and Checkout, working directly with PMs and engineers.
- Expedia Group’s first dedicated ads designer. I designed every consumer ad unit, starting with the Native Marquee Card, and wrote the rules they follow. One unit brings in $13M+ a year. In 2026 I led the Display Ads landing page redesign across web, mobile web and iOS.
- On lodging, I designed the lodging card and the property page, and the lodging app redesign lifted conversion about 2.2%, worth $7.8M. I co-built Source Views, a Figma library that mirrors production, so 500+ designers start from the real product.
- In checkout, I designed the flow and the travel insurance add-on. Checkout optimization brought in $5M and beat quarterly BPS targets two quarters in a row.
- I was a major contributor to the Expedia homepage redesign, which shipped, and re-architected landing pages across every line of business.
